The Sky Now - An Astrology Blog (April 23)

A significant shift in the cosmic energy mix occurred early this morning when Mars, the planet that governs our outward direction of energy, transited into Cancer.  This energy is more focused than that of Gemini but it operates at lower frequency.  Mars in Cancer wants us to slow down and flow with our feelings and intuition.  We may find ourselves moving sideways more frequently, looking for the best (safest?) path forward.  This can be a gentle time of nurturing and caring for loved ones and finding pleasure in quiet day to day domestic life.  However as Mars is in detriment in Cancer we have to be careful that we do not become too passive in our life or escapist in unhealthy ways.  Over-sensitivity and passive-aggressive behaviors are other negative manifestations of Mars in Cancer energies.  However on the positive side with Mars now in a Water sign and all the other inner planets in an Earth sign (Taurus) the inner planets are all aligned elementally and can work in greater harmony.  Mars will be in Cancer until June 11.  Expect action over the next few weeks in the areas of life governed by whichever House is ruled by Cancer in your  Natal Chart.
