The Autumn Equinox arrives at 3:21 PM EDT today with the ingress of the Sun into Libra. For those who practice the Craft, for those who identify as Wiccans and for many other pagans this marks the great Sabbat of Mabon. Light and darkness are in perfect balance at the moment of the Equinox. Equinoxes have long been seen as sacred portals, perfect for powerful magick and ideal for profound transformation. We enter now into a Season of Venus. The planet Venus rules the sign of Libra. Libra is a sign of balance and thus this becomes a season of finding and creating healthy balance in our life and in our communities. For the next four weeks energies will be conducive to creating harmony and balance internally and externally via spiritual principles and healthy daily regimens. They will be conducive to diplomatic resolutions to complex problems that work for all parties concerned. They will be conducive to experiencing and creating art. And, yes, to romance and love. Caution against a tendency toward people pleasing during this window though. One must always balance one's own needs with the desire or perceived need to please (or placate) another. The Sun will be in Libra until October 23.
