The Moon pulls the tides of the ocean, and it affects all living beings on our planet. The Moon is reflective. In astrology the Moon is our inner sea of feelings and emotions, our instinctive reactions and inner-focused spiritual energy based in feeling and intuition. In the Tarot the Moon is represented by the High Priestess card. The tarot card of The Moon itself actually represents a passage stage late in the ascendant journey of the Major Arcana. When we consider the cycle of the Moon through the 12 signs of the zodiac each month we realize that each of us will experience 12 base mood modes each month, the colour and tone of which will be dependent on where one's Natal Wheel begins, which planets are in which sign/house in our Natal Chart, which planets are transiting through the sign the Moon is moving through at the time and what relationships (aspects) those planets form with other transiting celestial objects and with planets, asteroids, stars and luminaries in our own chart. Then there is our own coding to consider, the truths locked away in our own personal mythology that we formed about our self or about life based upon significant incidents, experiences and traumas in our life that became behavioral archetypes, and how we instinctively react to situations based on that coding. The Moon asks us to reflect inward, to become more aware, and in that reflection and awareness there is enlightenment which can help us navigate our emotional seas more serenely and ultimately more effectively each month.
